Your teeth will then need to undergo a preparation process. This is a simple yet irreversible process that involves the removal of a half to a one-and-a-half millimeter layer of your tooth’s enamel. This removal is necessary to make room for the veneer to sit flush against your tooth so that it has a natural look. 

An impression will then be taken of your teeth and sent into a lab where your veneers will be crafted. This creation process can take up to two weeks, during which you will be given temporary veneers. Once your veneers arrive at your dentist from the lab, you will return for a follow-up appointment so that your temporary veneers can be removed and your permanent veneers put into place.
